Thanks Brisbane for another spectacular Riverfire

29September

It’s that time of year again, when the city puts on a spectacular finale to the Brisbane Festival. The RAAF F-111s, with their fiery “dump and burn” may have gone, but the Royal Australian Air Force still has a few tricks up its sleeve - sending in their newest F-18F Super Hornet jets dumping flares as a signal to kick off the main event. (which you can see in the YouTube video link below).

This year, eager to get a good position, I went early to stake out a spot for myself across the road from my apartment - overlooking the river and and the Story Bridge. It was a hot afternoon and a long wait - but with a great view of the displays by RAAF Super Hornets and Australian Army helicopters prior to the main event. A few of my photos from the day are below.
